Pere Obrador Espinosa

Pere Obrador is responsible for the Early and Open Innovation program at Telefonica Digital.


Pere holds a PhD in Telecom Engineering from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, an MS in video processing from the University of Southern California, and another MS in Telecom Engineering from UPC. He has spent his professional career between Catalonia and California. In California he spent 10 years, 8 of them at the Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in Palo Alto as a project manager of a digital cameras research team. There, he led an Open Innovation project, working together with Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, Ca.

Nowadays, he is in charge of the Open Innovation initiative with F.C. Barcelona, elBullifoundation, Babolat, Art and Technology Program with Laboral de Gijon, among others.

He has published 27 research papers, and holds 31 patents.
